Gimnasio Moderno presents the regulations defined in the Strategic Road Safety Plan, in order to reduce the probability of occurrence of traffic accidents that may affect the physical, mental and social integrity of the entire educational community.
Alcohol and Drug Regulation Policy
Se cumplirá con la política de prevención de consumo de alcohol, tabaco y sustancias psicoactivas en el trabajo, definida por el Colegio.
Driving hours and rest policy
As a general criterion, drivers must not exceed 4 continuous hours of driving and their working day must not exceed 10 hours, with minimum rest stops of 30 minutes, taking into account the applicable labor regulations.
Speed Rule
All drivers must evaluate the risk conditions due to weather and road conditions in order to adjust their speed below the maximum limits allowed on the road, or refrain from traveling in case this evaluation indicates so. Inside the institution, the entrance of vehicles must be pedestrian escorted by the monitor or teacher.
The maximum speed limits in accordance with current regulations and stipulated by the school will be controlled by means of periodic monitoring of traffic violations and satellite devices (GPS), installed in all vehicles.
The maximum speed limits according to current national regulations are:
TYPES OF ROADS |
MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT |
Paved Urban Roads | 60 km/h |
National and departmental roads paved | 80 km/h |
Road corridors defined and identified by the Secretariat of Mobility | 50 km/h |
School Roads, residential area and road intersections | 30 km/h |
School internal routes (parking lots, circulation areas) | 02 km/h |
Seat belt use rule
No use of mobile communications equipment while driving rule
The school prohibits the use of mobile communications equipment, including hands-free communication devices, while driving with vehicles transporting personnel.
In the event of needing to answer a call or use mobile communication equipment, it is the responsibility of the route monitor to answer the assigned means of communication, or to park in a safe place, with stationary lights, to answer the call.
Use of personal protective equipment
The specifications and requirements for the use of personal protective equipment are mandatory for employees of the College who drive or operate vehicles and machinery owned or operated by the College.
The Occupational Health and Safety Department will schedule training in the use of the respective personal protective equipment for each type of vehicle during operation.
The established guidelines will be controlled by means of periodic follow-ups of comparendos, audits and/or hidden follow-ups. In case of non-compliance with the stipulations, disciplinary actions will be taken in accordance with the internal work regulations.
