Prepared for CIS

In February, we will have the visit of the evaluators.

For two days, the school staff, including teachers, administrative personnel, and general services staff, participated in an intensive preparation training for the visit of the evaluation team from the Council of International Schools, scheduled from February 3rd to February 9th of this year.

This visit is of utmost importance in the International Accreditation process that the school initiated in 2020. During their stay, the evaluators will meticulously review the information presented in each of the eight domains, which includes detailed narratives of different standards and nearly five hundred pieces of evidence.

The domains, named with the letters of the alphabet, cover the following school topics:

DOMAIN A. PURPOSE AND DIRECTION

DOMAIN B. GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP

DOMAIN C. CURRICULUM

DOMAIN D. TEACHING AND LEARNING

DOMAIN E. WELL-BEING

DOMAIN F. PERSONNEL

DOMAIN G. CAMPUS AND AUXILIARY SERVICES

DOMAIN H. COMMUNICATION AND PARTNERSHIPS

The visitors, who come from various parts of the world, will tour all areas of the school, conduct interviews, classroom observations, review documents, and gather evidence to determine if Gimnasio Moderno effectively complies with the quality standards established by CIS.

At the end of the visit, the international evaluators will issue a report detailing their findings and recommendations for the institution. Obtaining accreditation from this global organization, whose goal is to create a community of socially responsible global citizens through international education, is essential for Gimnasio Moderno to maintain its status as a leading educational institution in Colombia and to continue upholding the highest standards of quality.

For this reason, it is crucial that all members of the community be prepared to collaborate with the evaluators and provide them with all the necessary information during the days of the visit.
