Graduated in 2012, he is a lawyer who took his undergraduate studies at the Universidad de Los Andes. Since 2019 he has been linked to the ‘Enseña Por Colombia’ [“Teaching for Colombia”] program, an NGO that seeks young professionals to be teachers in rural areas of the country for two years. Alejandro is currently in the middle of his second year as a teacher.
Alejandro is a teacher of English and social sciences at the Colegio Diocesano Laura Montoya in Chigorodó, Antioquia; With this experience, he has been aware of the great lessons and learnings that his students have taught him.
Now, in his role as teacher, he recognizes the importance of giving back to the country all the benefits that he has received; and in the classes with his “kids”, he does his best to offer them the legacy that the Gimnasio Moderno always instilled in him: “Educating above instructing”.
Alejandro is committed with Colombia and this experience has given him the opportunity to learn about the reality of the country in a deep way and to share with people who have transformed his life. He is convinced that he has not been the one who has changed the lives of his students, but they are the ones who have changed his life.
