On May 14, the students of the Debate Group made a visit to the Congress of the Republic, within the framework of the Intercollegiate Seminar “In which country do we live”, in which more than 10 schools of the capital participated.
The students shared with senators from different political parties and learned about the dynamics of the Congress and the House of Representatives. They were also able to discuss issues related to the country’s economic development, multi-ethnic diversity and the main structural problems of the country.
The students were accompanied by the Coordinator of the Debate Group, Vladimir Benavides. The participants were Matías Bitar and Orlando de la Vega from sixth grade, Juan Daniel Palacios from eighth grade, Alejandro Ordoñez, Juan Felipe Rodríguez and Jerónimo Yepes from ninth grade. Emilio Amaya, Clemente Fernández and Juan Mario Mayorga from eleventh grade.
The next meeting of the Seminar will be held in September at the Gimnasio Moderno. More than 20 schools are expected to participate in this activity.
