On Saturday, October 2, the first version of “El Aguilucho Classic” [“The Eaglet Classic”] was held, a cycling race that had the participation of students between 9th and 11th grade respectively. In addition, it had the support of teachers, collaborators and parents, who joined this tour, motivating the participating members of the institution.
This version was made in the mythical ascent to Alto de Patios, which is 6.4 km long and where, as a time-scale, the participants were complying with the route. The main objective of the activity was to give space to a national sport that has gained many followers in recent years and that, without a doubt, has delivered the best results, above other sports, to our country.
Cycling is one of the sports that the has the endorsement of the Sports and Recreation Institute in the Gimnasio Moderno so that, as a School Sports Club, it can integrate the participants in the Bogotá Cycling League.
The school hopes to carry out other versions of the El Aguilucho Classic every semester, in order to promote this sport and be one of the promoters in Bogotá, inviting other educational institutions on future occasions.
The School Sports Club will continue to encourage sports, the use of free time and the discovery of new talents, conducting periodic training so that those who are already linked, can continue preparing for the second version of the El Aguilucho Classic.
