Fourth grade students participated in a class focused on environmental protection, pollution, water and air care. Two members of the Bogota Observatory were in charge of sharing knowledge with the students, addressing key issues such as the main sources of pollution in the city and the harmful effects it has on the environment, as well as its negative impact on people’s health.
Using telescopes and other instruments, the students conducted measurement experiments to determine the water consumption of Bogotanos, discovering that each inhabitant consumes approximately 80 liters of water per day.
At the end, the gymnasians were also able to learn about the water collection procedure and how it is processed from Chingaza to supply more than nine million people in Bogota.
