On May 2, 2000, in the Arborizadora Alta neighborhood in Ciudad Bolívar, the Gimnasio Sabio Caldas opened. Institution that would be the social projection of the Gimnasio’s community.
From the Principal’s Office, teachers such as Jorge Cortés, Ember Estefenn and Ruth Estella García, have had the challenge of replicating the pedagogical model, the discipline of trust and the Gimnasio’s community spirit, among the students of this institution that was first delivered in concession and now it is under the administration of the Gimnasio Moderno.
All the generosity of the Gimnasio’s community, through the Monsignor Emilio de Brigard Foundation; Former students and Parents Associations; and the altruism of the Gimnasio Moderno, have contributed to the construction of projects that have benefited the community of Sabio Caldas.
Offices, Scholarship Funds for higher education, support for immersion trips in Canada, classrooms for technical training and nutrition programs, among others, have been settled and have paid off in these 20 years of history of our sister school, where 1400 students and their families have found new opportunities to build a better future.
For two decades, the Gimnasio Sabio Caldas has offered quality education to hundreds of students in Ciudad Bolívar, standing out among all the district schools of Bogotá. Last year, it occupied the ninth place in the District in the Saber Exams for the third, fifth, and ninth grades, and it occupied the fifth place among the 22 schools which are under administration.
Thank you Gimnasio Sabio Caldas for working hard with the Gimnasio Moderno to be the best every day. Happy 20 years!
