After more than a year of hard work, Gimnasio Moderno was accepted as a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS). This is an acceptance so that the school can be evaluated and subsequently admitted to the main international education organization that is committed to high quality education.
The entire community should feel proud of this good news that means that Gimnasio Moderno meets superior standards that match the 711 schools in the world belonging to this organization.
The central purpose of CIS is to enable its members to achieve and deliver the highest standards in international education and to continuously improve the learning outcomes of their students. A validation process, in which educational institutions are evaluated – using a set of standards as a basis – so that their academic and administrative processes are at the same level of those of the best institutions in the world.
From now on, members of the community will have more open doors in the world, with new knowledge, skills and abilities to lead their lives as global citizens. In the near future, the school will have native teachers from other countries visiting the campus; likewise, its curriculum will be adjusted to the best international practices and the entire community will benefit from this new international vision of Gimnasio Moderno without altering the spirit and the paradigms of the Discipline of Trust.
The Government of the Gimnasio Moderno Foundation thanks the students, families, teachers, alumni and alumnae who supported the entire membership process and congratulates the management team that led it.
This membership that has been granted is the first step. During the next 18 months, the school, hand in hand with all its members, must be prepare to be visited by several educational leaders -of different nationalities-, in order for our “Beacon of Hope” to be worthy of CIS accreditation.
