When he was Drum Major of the Band, in 1998, he devised some advertising campaigns to encourage students to sign up for the different instruments and to attend rehearsals punctually. Thanks to his creativity, cleverness and effectiveness, he discovered his vocation and love for the world of advertising.
After receiving his high school diploma, Edgar Camilo Plazas Michelsen entered the Politécnico Gran Colombiano to study Marketing and Advertising. He later completed a Master’s Degree in Digital Marketing at the European Institute of Design in Madrid; and recently, he received the MIT International Certification in Digital Transformation.
He has been part of the creative team at Leo Burnett agency in Madrid, where he helped build the Digital Department. Then, he moved to Mexico to work at MullenLowe Agency, where he also integrated the team at its headquarters in Colombia. A few days ago he was invited to join the BBDO Mexico offices as Chief Growth Office.
His notorious career has allowed him to lead global campaigns for the best known brands in the world and his work has been highlighted in the most important festivals in the world.
Now, in his return to the Aztec country, his greatest challenge is to continue to stand out for his ingenuity, creativity, commitment and dedication in the area he is most passionate about; and, of course, to continue to represent Gimnasio Moderno in the advertising sector.
