The Montessori I and Montessori II students, with the accompaniment of the José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden, planted vegetables and aromatic plants in a paper cup, to take them home and take care of them with their families. On the other hand, children of Montessori III and First Decroly planted plants in the school garden. The purpose of this activity was to teach how they can plant and care for a plant that will later produce inputs for their home or for the school kitchen.
The Secretary of the Environment worked with the students from Second Decroly to Fifth Decroly, in an activity to learn about the animals of the savanna ecosystem. They played games called “Biodivérsate” (Biodiverse yourself), through which the students met animals of the different local ecosystems and made crafts.
The middle school and high school students participated in a videoconference with Ximena Franco, who explained the importance of the floriculture sector in the country’s economy and illustrated the advances that have been developed to mitigate the impact of this activity.
