From October 25 to 29, various activities were held to celebrate the traditional Cultural Week.
The Week began with a Jazz concert that filled the auditorium of the Cultural Center with good music, where different musicians performed and delighted the audience. After a break, a target shooting contest was held, in which the physical and cognitive abilities of the students were demonstrated.
In the following event of the cultural week, Alexandra Montoya, the impersonator of the radio program La Luciérnaga, presented the Voices Match, a show where, through her talent and ingenuity, she entertained the students with imitations of famous people in pop culture . The students also had a space to demonstrate their skills when parodying a voice.
The first activity on Tuesday was a soccer match between the students and the teachers. The children were the protagonists of the meeting as they brought out their talent and skill with the ball, on the scoreboard there was a tie that was resolved after a penalty shoot-out to give the teachers victory.
The following activity of the day was the Colombian Haka Dance, a dance that simulated the tradition of the Māori culture with songs and group dances, demonstrating strength and power. The dances were characterized by creativity in them, the use of phrases and noises.
For Wednesday, The People’s fair presented different challenges for the students, who, always prioritizing their fun, gave their best to meet them. As the name of the event says, the fair is an adaptation to the present of a typical space in a town where educational activities are carried out with a prize at stake. Some of the dynamics were frog, tic tac toe, darts and twister.
The Mandalas were the next event on Wednesday and consisted of assembling figures with plastic caps of all colors, which were collected by the students themselves in an action that also served to recycle. As in India, when the Mandalas ended, they disarmed to demonstrate the ephemerality that is always present in our lives.
Thursday began with the preparation of the troupes; the students prepared their costumes and polished all the details in their choreographies for the great presentation in the auditorium of the Cultural Center. At 10:30 am, the live broadcast began and with this, each course presented a thematic dance, demonstrating their creativity, energy and unique dance steps, which, accompanied by a staging, became an unforgettable presentation for the assistants, both virtual and spectators of the theater.
The day ended with the Talent Show, where the Elementary students demonstrated their artistic abilities. The presentations included talents from music, with pianists, drummers and singers, through dancers and comedians with great school humor. The show also saw the participation of the teachers, who entertained their students with a group dance.
On the last day of the Cultural Week 2021, the students went back to the traditional excursions which allow them to learn through experiences and thus enhance the learning processes.
