The Gimnasio Moderno, faithful to its humanistic and liberal spirit, has been developing and leading in recent years an intense and vigorous cultural agenda that includes, among others, meetings of writers, book releases, forums, recitals, seminars, tributes, among others. However, the central events around which the spirit of our agenda revolves are three: Homage to a national poet (which takes place in March) The lines of your hand-Approach to the literary world of eight Colombian writers ( which takes place in September) and the Christmas Recital (which takes place in December), all of them free events open to the general public.

It has been gratifying to be able to do justice acts with authors such as Mario Rivero (his last public appearance was made in our Library in a tribute made by his friends), Rogelio Echavarría, Roberto Burgos Cantor, Evelio Rosero Diago, Giovanni Quessep, Álvaro Rodríguez Torres, Jaime García Maffla, Renata Durán, Maruja Vieira, José Luís Díaz-Granados, Jotamario Arbeláez, Miguel Méndez Camacho, Juan Diego Mejía and Elkin Restrepo among others.
