Next Monday, July 26, students will return from vacation and will start the academic activities of the second semester of the year, in the schedule that has been implemented, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
At the beginning of June, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection issued Resolution 777, which updated and simplified the biosafety protocols for educational institutions.
Taking into account the physical distance of one meter inside the classrooms, which the new measures establish, the following will be the schedule of the Rotation Model, by school grades:
- All Preschool classes will attend 5 days a week.
- All Primary grades will attend 4 days a week.
- All Middle School and Tenth grades will attend 3 days a week.
- Eleventh grade will attend 4 days a week.
The school makes a special call for all students to return to campus during this new stage of the pandemic.
It is important to highlight that during the vacation period 90% of the teachers and collaborators have completed the vaccination schedule. The rest will start or complete it in the month of August.
At Gimnasio Moderno we are convinced of the importance of returning to the classroom and the need for children and young people to return to close social relationships to stimulate their emotions and development.
In order to encourage you to send your child to school, we want the students themselves to share with you why they enjoyed coming back to school:
SPORTS AND EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Every weekday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., sports training spaces will be offered for students who registered during registration week.
Likewise, the Sports Schools and Extracurricular Activities will be offered on weekday afternoons, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The school band will be able to rehearse on weekday afternoons and Saturdays, respecting the rules of healthy coexistence with the neighbors.
LUNCH AND SNACKS
Students may eat lunch at school. Lunch will be charged according to the rotation scheme established by the administration.
School Stores will be open.
Students may bring their lunch and/or snacks to school.

TEACHER WORK
Every day teachers will have an hour of planning and teamwork from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Wednesdays the usual Teacher’s Academy schedule will continue, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
SCHOOL ROUTES
The transportation service will be provided for those students who attend school in person and who have enrolled in the school routes during registration week.
ENTRANCE TO THE SCHOOL
Entrance to the school will be as follows:
Preschool and Elementary: pedestrian door and vehicular exit on 74th Street.
Middle School and High School: entrance on Carrera Novena.
For the entrance, the same protocols implemented during the course of the year will be used. Remember that the Gimnasio is certified by ICONTEC in biosafety operations.
BIOSAFETY PROTOCOLS
It should be reminded that Gimnasio Moderno was the first school in Bogota to receive the Biosecure Operations Certification from Icontec, obtaining the highest qualification.
We invite families to read the school’s Biosafety protocols, which can be consulted by clicking on the following image:
The use of a face mask is mandatory for all children and teachers, employees and administrative staff. For your convenience, biosafety kits can be purchased at the Parents Association, through the online service: www.asopadresgm.org.co or by phone, by contacting Angélica Martínez at 320 4283070.
These are some recommendations for the use of masks:
REPORT ON THE NOTII APP
Through the Notii app families should register daily health news that students may present. Likewise, at the beginning of each month, they should fill out the profile characterization in the same application. Without the registration and the approval of the application, they will not be able to enter the school. This registration is essential for biosecurity reasons and statistical records.
SELF-CARE
The school recommends that families continue with self-care at home. In the case of any new developments, therse should be reported to the group director and by Notii, so that the school authorities can take the necessary measures and the epidemic closures can take place.
It is important to remind everyone in the family to be very demanding with the rules of self-care. The correct use of masks, constant hand washing, good ventilation and keeping a social distance are actions that are now part of our lives. If we all apply them together, we can continue to counteract the advance of the virus.
VIRTUAL MODEL
For non-face-to-face days, students will continue to receive the educational service virtually, as it has been the case in the previous months.
