Gimnasio Moderno shares with its community the Rotaion Model that will be implemented in the school starting next Monday, February 8.
With this model, the school seeks to respond to the suggestions of the families and the recommendations of the pedagogical and psychological teams of the school while respecting the rules that have been dictated by the authorities on the subject, and the biosecurity protocols certified by ICONTEC.
SCHOOL DAY
The school day will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (except on Wednesdays, which will be until 2:00 p.m., as it has been the case for years at the school).
Next Wednesday, February 10th , there will be no on-site or virtual classes. This is because the Ministry of Education has ordered us to celebrate the Day of Excellence, in which all the schools in the country are called to reflect on the quality of education.
Physical attendance to school is voluntary. Those students whose parents wish and authorize their attendance will be able to go to the campus as follows:
Pre-school:
- Montessori I: 5 days a week.
- Montessori II: 5 days a week.
- Montessori III: 3 days a week.
- First grade Decroly: 3 days a week.
Middle School:
- Sixth Grade: 2 days a week.
- Seventh Grade: 2 days a week.
- Eighth Grade: 2 days a week.
- Ninth Grade : 2 days a week
Primary:
- Second Grade Decroly: 2 days a week
- Third Grade Decroly: 2 days a week
- Fourth Grade Decroly: 2 days a week.
- Fifth Grade Decroly: 2 days a week
High School:
- Tenth Grade: 2 days a week
- Eleventh Grade: 3 days a week
On Wednesday afternoons, after lunch, High School students (10th and 11th grade) will be able to attend the school to work on their autonomy and leadership projects (committees, research projects, discussion groups, among others).
According to the recommendations of the authorities, the school’s pedagogical team and the School’s Board of Directors, it has been decided to give priority to the preschool children, who need to be face-to-face the most, and to the eleventh grade students, taking into account that they are in their last year at the school.
WHICH DAYS DO EACH GRADES NEED TO GO?
SPORTS AND EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
(as of February 15).
The sports and extracurricular spaces will operate starting Monday, February 15.
Every weekday, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., sports training spaces will be offered to students who registered during registration week.
Likewise, Sports Schools and Extracurricular Activities will be offered on weekday afternoons from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In addition, the School’s Band may rehearse on weekday afternoons and Saturdays, respecting the rules of healthy coexistence with the school’s neighbors.

Students who wish to bring their lunch and/or snacks to school may do so.

TEACHER’S WORK
Every day, teachers will have one hour of planning and teamwork from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Wednesdays the usual Teacher’s Academy schedule will continue from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
SCHOOL ROUTES
Transportation service will be provided for those students who attend school in person and who have enrolled in the school routes during registration week.
ENTRANCE TO THE CAMPUS
The entrance to the school will operate as follows:
Preschool and Primary: pedestrian gate and vehicular exit from 74th Street.
Middle School and High School: Entrance on Carrera Novena.
For the entrance, the same protocols implemented at the end of last year will be used. Let’s remember that the School is certified by ICONTEC in biosecure operations.
BIOSAFETY PROTOCOLS
Gimnasio Moderno was the first school in Bogota to receive the Biosafety Operations Certification from Icontec, obtaining the highest qualification.
We invite the families to read the school’s Biosafety protocols, which can be found by clicking on the following image:
The use of face masks is mandatory for all children and teachers, employees and administrative staff. For your convenience, biosafety kits can be purchased at the Parents Association, through the online service: www.asopadresgm.org.co or by phone, contacting Angélica Martínez at 320 4283070.
REPORTING IN THE NOTII APP
Through the Notii app, families must register health issues that students may present daily. Likewise, at the beginning of each month, they must fill out the profile characterization in the same application. Without the registration and the approval of the application, they will not be able to enter the school. This registration is essential for biosecurity reasons and statistical records.
FORMAL UNIFORM
Next Monday, February 8 and 15, students and teachers will be able to attend without formal uniform.
VIRTUAL MODEL
Families who, for whatever reason, do not wish to send their children to school, will continue to receive the educational service virtually as it has been happening in recent months. On Monday, February 8, at 8 a.m., they will have to connect to Group Direction from the links of each grade.
In the case of the Preschool, and according to the meeting held by the Principal with the Parents Board last Monday, the school will adopt some changes that have to do with the reduction of the children’s exposure to screens. The idea is to improve the virtual service and respond to parents’ requests
CHANGES TO THE MODEL
This model may vary according to the new dispositions of the competent authorities and will be revised at the beginning of March.
We are very happy to have our students back on the impressive campus of their beloved school.
