Our library fosters the environment for children to have permanent and meaningful contact with books, so that from the beginning of their schooling, they are presented as lifelong readers.
From the Children’s Library, the Reading Encouragement is an invitation that offers various options for the development of the child’s reading behavior so that it can be given based on the approach of different types of texts. The program seeks to form a critical reader, capable of producing its own creations.
Literature is privileged, as it is a source of pleasure and the opportunity to awaken in children the aesthetic enjoyment, which is ultimately the seed to reach the love and enthusiasm for other types of texts and information supports.
On the other hand, the Library Isabel Holguín de Gómez seeks to teach to the student community the different ways to access, search, collect and use information, supporting and guiding them, so that the combination of resources and services can be useful to them in any academic or professional field.
The policies of the library are designed to provide an environment that encourages learning through the pleasure of reading.
Formal learning is done through the contents of the curriculum of the Library, especially the one that corresponds to user training, with playful and innovative methodology. It works with all areas in order to support them in content development, classroom projects and Centers of Interest.
