Our Chapel
The name of the chapel of the Holy Apostles was proposed by mister Agustín in 1956, three years after Monsignor Emilio de Brigard blessed the first stone of its construction in the place where its four naves are built today. Its architectural design was entrusted to the architect Juvenal Moya Cadena, who put in his execution his good taste and knowledge, so that our chapel would become, over the years, the best work of its kind in Latin America. The architect Moya Cadena acquired the beautiful stained glass, in France, in the house of Barrillet. We find the spiritual depth of the images along with the polychromy of the stained glass:
The Annunciation: Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Birth: Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary.
The flight into Egypt: Take the child and his Mother and flee to Egypt.
Jesus among the Doctors: Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?
Baptism: This is my beloved son with whom I am well pleased.
Jesus with the children: Let the little children come to me.
The last Supper: Do this in memory of me.
San Francisco: Sister birds, praise the creator.
Since its inauguration, the chaplains who have guided and formed the moral status of our students are: Monsignor Luis Gómez De Brigard, Monsignor Emilio De Brigard -loyal companion for about 50 years-, Father Luis Montalvo, Father Jose Ignacio Perdomo, Monsignor Ernesto Solano, Father Alfonso Robledo, Father Mauricio Rueda Beltz, Father Julio Sánchez, Monsignor Ernesto Arbeláez , Monsignor Luis Montalvo, Father Luis Carlos Mantilla, Father Frank Monroy, Father Ancizar Martínez, Father Mauricio Baraya, Father Rafael De Brigard and currently the Father John Roderick.
