Gimnasio Moderno began its annual cycle of School of Parents, designed for the entire community, where traditionally meeting spaces are generated between teachers, students, parents and experts on topics of total relevance about parenting and communication between parents and children.
The School for Parents of Gimnasio Moderno is a privileged space for joint reflection from different perspectives on children, which gives the parents the opportunity to analyze, understand and respond in a more appropriate way to the challenges of today’s world.
The psychologist of Preschool Education, María Isabel Martínez, talked about the psychological and social implications that returning to the campus bring to children and families, in a conference focused on recognizing and talking about those changes that school-age children have experienced, with the changes derived from the pandemic and the continuous exercises of social isolation. Parents had the opportunity to generate understanding tools for their children and to identify warning signs of possible anxiety about returning to face-to-face classes.
The School for Parents of Gimnasio Moderno also began a continuous cycle of training in “Executive Functions”, where parents will be able to access tools to make a follow-up on the academic duties of their children, better understanding neurological concepts, the psychology development and the generation of higher psychological functions such as attention, consciousness, memory, among others.
For the entire community, a space was opened to talk about emotional support networks and their importance to withstand times of uncertainty, such as the present time we live in. With the talk “Friends: The most important emotional support network”, it became clear that the only way to overcome conflicts is by having emotional resources discovered in others.
For last grades students, the School for Parents launched a conference to learn a little more about adolescent psychology and their ability to make decisions. All this, to support the relationship between parents and children, especially in relation to the vocational decision that generates so much concern in the community. Through this talk, parents gained tools to better understand their children and support them in better ways in their search for identity.
All the activities of the School of Parents of the Gimnasio Moderno are open to the community, you can find the talks on our official Facebook webpage or on our YouTube channel.
