In the Superior Council lies, by express delegation of the statutes, the sovereignty of the Gimnasio Moderno Foundation. In the first meeting of the year of this governing body, Mr. Andrés Cadena Venegas was elected as President of this important body. Likewise, Mr. Luis Fernando Nieto Müller was appointed as Vice President. Daniel Jácome Lleras, a 1993 alumnus of the Foundation, will act as Secretary of the Board.

In November of last year, the Plenary Chamber, fulfilling the purpose stipulated for the fourth meeting of the year, appointed Ms. Piedad Caballero as a new member of the Superior Council, who began to exercise her functions as of January 1, 2021.
Piedad Caballero Prieto holds a degree in Philosophy and Letters with a specialization in Sociology of Development from the ISDIBER Institute in Madrid, Spain; a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a Doctorate in Education from the UNED in Madrid, Spain. She has extensive experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of educational public policies, as well as educational management in the public and private sector.
In addition to the President, the Vice President and the new member, the Superior Council will be integrated this year by:
María Fernanda Campo, who has served as former Minister of Education of the National Government, between 2010 and 2014. Also as president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota and interim mayor of the country’s capital.
Luisa Pizano Salazar, is an expert in education, daughter of a former student and recognized for being one of the founders of Los Nogales School.
Roberto Enrique Montoya, current Executive Director of Icontec. He has served as Academic Vice Rector of the Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administración, CESA; and also as Administrative Vice Principal of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. He is a 1980 alumnus.
Anthropologist Carl Langebaek Rueda is Principal of the Fundación Universitaria Empresarial de la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá. He was vice-principal of Universidad de Los Andes and is an alumnus of the school from 1979.
