ISABELITA HOLGUÍN
Isabelita joined the Gimnasio as a Decroly teacher. She worked with the Interest Centers led by the children of the Primary, section that she directed to which she gave her life.

THE PROF’S ARRIVAL
In mid-January, Ernesto Bein, the Prof, came to Colombia, who was invited by mister Agustín to visit the Gimnasio after having talked with him in Cheltenham, England, during a world congress on education.

AQUATIC FAUNA
A stone aquarium, surrounded by greenery, was installed near the Greenhouse and the Aviary, on the north side of the Main Building. It captivated the students with the beauty of its fish and encouraged them to learn about aquatic fauna.

ANATOMY CLASS
Professor Ernesto Bein points out and repeats to his students the name of each of the bones of the human body in his spectacular classroom.

PLAYING OUTDOORS
With blue eyes and blond mustache, mister Ricardo Lleras Codazzi said that the Gimnasio Moderno’s method consisted in playing. His Natural Sciences and Geography classes were given in the best setting: outdoors. In this image, mister Agustín Nieto congratulates him when he was awarded by the National Government with the Boyaca Cross, on March 5, 1939.

SINGING CLASS
Teachr Ernesto Martin plays the Steinway and Sons piano so that the fourth grade decroly children sing popular songs with their angelic voices.

BOYACA CROSS
President Eduardo Santos imposes the Boyacá Cross on the Gimnasio Moderno on occasion of the commemoration of its Silver Anniversary.

FOUNDERS PARK
On the occasion of the celebration of the first 25 years of the school, the Founders Park was inaugurated as an act of recognition and gratitude for the promoters of the institution.

FREEZING WATER POLO
On the birthday of the school, a water polo tournament was held in the icy waters of the old pool, which was 32 meters long by 16 meters wide.082

SILVER ALUMNI
A group of alumni from the Gimnasio Moderno attended the Silver anniversary of the school on March 18th of 1939.
