END OF THE POOL

THE LITTLE DOCTOR
Monsignor Emilio de Brigard was the spiritual guide who guided the training in the Faith of students for decades. For more than 30 years, all the social efforts of the Gimnasio Moderno have been channeled through the foundation that bears his name. THE FINAL CLOSING CEREMONY
This was the last Closing Ceremony attended by “Prof” Ernesto Bein. A few days later he died in his apartment that was located in the Main Building.

SANTA FE STYLE CHOCOLATE
For decades, a way of convening and bringing together former students of the School has been around a Santa Fe style Chocolate. In its beginnings it was accompanied by a dance with the students of the Feminino, but for some years the simple meeting of recovered friends has been enough to fill the school cafeteria with anecdotes in various voices, laughter of memories and infinite fraternity.

Generations of students met Carlos Julio Quintero and María Elisa Rodríguez. Her hands, furrowed by time, illuminated the children’s eyes when she handed them sweets and colored lollipops in thousands of recesses.

The older students were close to the children of the Montessori. Their classrooms were in the faculty and at recess, they laid down on the grass next to the teachers’ cars.

Maria de los Ángeles García, “chiqui”, was a teacher of Second Grade . Over the years, this woman full of charisma went on to lead the Primary.

UNVEILING THE NATURAL MISTERIES
The students will never forget the boards, in Technicolor, of the chemistry classes of Mister Gabriel Triana Beltrán. They will always remember the phrase with which he began each exercise in his laboratory manual: “students must be able to:”. Thanks to his practices, his disciples unveiled, among Erlenmeyers, pipettes and test tubes, the natural mysteries.

REMODELING
The wooden floor of the Covered Gymnasium was replaced by a specialized floor for sports; all of this, thanks to the architectural transformations that took place at that time in school.
