GIMNASIAN PRESIDENTS
The President of the Republic, Ernesto Samper Pizano, a former student of the class of 1968, awards the former President Alfonso López Michelsen with the Agustín Nieto Caballero Grand Medal, who also studied at the School.
EVERYONE IN COSTUMES
On October 31st the children anxiously wait for the night to go out in costumes to go trick or treating. The party started that day at school when the Principal, Mario Galofre Cano, surprised them disguised as a magician.
THE WHITE SPORT
The final of the Adelaida Tennis Cup was played between couples Alejandro Perry and Alejandra Convers (on the left) against Carolina León and Alejandro Villaveces (on the right). The first mentioned duo was awarded the coveted trophy.

THE SCOUT’S CORNER
What was the first classroom for teaching through the Montessori method became the meeting place for the Scout 95 Group, made up of girls from the Feminino and boys from the Moderno.
PUBLICATIONS FUND
Teacher Leonor Rosso reads one of the books published by the Gimnasio, in the “stand” that the nascent School Publications Fund set up at the 1996 Book Fair.
MARCHING FOR PEACE
Sixty school athletes marched from the Boyacá Bridge to the Gimnasio. The reason: carrying a torch as a manifesto of the intention of many Colombians to live in a country far from violence. It took them two days to get to Bogotá and the community received them in La Raqueta around a common goal: La Paz.

At break time, children and young people line up next to the Primary staircase to buy their snacks, while they are tended to by “Blanquita”.
THIRD FLOOR
Three courses per grade, a strategy that caused the school to necessarily expand its spaces. In the High School Building, a third floor was built to complete the number of necessary classrooms.

MYRIAM’S MODELS
At the end of the school year, the students exposed in impressive models, the work that they carried out throughout the year in the Social Studies class of the teacher Myriam Bustamante de Cuervo, a methodology that encouraged research in the students.
50 YEARS OF THE OAS
In La Raqueta, the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Organization of American States, which was born in the high school classrooms after the conclusion of the IX Pan American Conference in 1948.
CARMENCITA
Homage paid to Carmencita Casas Morales at the Gimnasio Campestre a teacher who for several decades gave her soul and spirit to the two schools, preparing students to receive First Communion.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
With green and orange balloons soaring into the sky and flags waving happily, Preschool children celebrate 85 years of school.
FIRST PEDAGOGY CONGRESS
Teachers participate in one of the workshops that were designed within the framework of the program of the First Congress of Pedagogy that the Gimnasio Moderno offered to teachers in the country.
TEACHER’S TRIP
Before starting the school year, the teachers left for San Luis de Ucuengá, in Punta Larga, Boyacá, to find themselves in a different pedagogical environment, nurture their vocation, meet again and recharge their batteries. GIMNASIO SABIO CALDAS
On May 2, the Centro Educativo Distrital Gimnasio Sabio Caldas opened its doors, in the Arborizadora Alta neighborhood of Ciudad Bolívar, an institution that was handed over to the Gimnasio Moderno in concession by the District Education Secretariat and in which the community spirit has multiplied.
CONTRUCTION OF THE POOL
The workers work in the building that will hold 515.000 millimeters of water in the new pool.
HIKER STEPS
The Seventh C students appear, who in October 2000 left for the beaches of Taganga, in Santa Marta, where they made this photo montage as a tribute to the steps of a good hiker who wants to know the country.
SAVATER
The Second National Congress of Pedagogy that took place in October 2001 had the participation of the Spanish philosopher and thinker Fernando Savater.
VISITING SAN ONOFRE
Second Grade students and some elementary school teachers left for San Onofre, Sucre, to share with the children of that distant region a few days of school life. They played, painted and received classes like them. A few months later, the students invited them to visit Bogotá.
PALO DE AGUA
Alumni Mauricio Rodríguez & Palo de Agua provide a spark for the School Festival, along with their teachers and some alumni. The songs that led to their being nominated for a Latin Grammy were a success.

SABIO CALDAS’ FLAG

MESSENGER FOR THE PRINCIPAL
Idinael Barreto started as a gardener. For more than thirty years he has been a collaborator of the School. Since 1998 he works in the rectory running errands, but mainly as a driver.
ALUMNI BAND
The War Band made up of former students of the school attend the meeting that every two years seeks to summon to this house those who will always be its children.
RECESS IN THE SABIO
During recess, students from the Gimnasio Sabio Caldas appear in the main corridor of their school, in front of the library and the dining room.
CIELITO
Teacher Cielito Duque taught religion. In class she looked like a mother talking to her children. All her alumni remember her with special affection for her famous “cart parking”, used to avoid the distraction of children during classes.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASS
Montessori I children, in their traditional white uniform, are very happy in their physical education class.
