COVERED GYM
Interior of the Covered Gymnasium, the first school sports arena. It was built in 1946 and years later the Swedish government donated equipment that allowed students to practice Olympic gymnastics.

THE BOGOTAZO
Due to the disturbances that occurred on April 9, 1948, the Gimnasio Moderno welcomed visitors to the IX Pan American Conference, so that they could continue with the deliberations that resulted in the formation of the Organization of American States. The students lived a few days with the cadets of the Military School.

THE FACULTY BUILDING
Photograph of the Daniel Samper Ortega Building where the Faculty of Industrial and Commercial Economics operated since 1944, with which the Gimnasio Moderno offered its students higher education. In 1954, the Universidad de los Andes and the college decided to merge to create a single Faculty of Economics.

FERNANDEZ MADRID
This was the theater that operated on the second floor of the Main Building. In 1918 it was called: “Santiago Samper Brush Theater”. In a few years it was changed to “Fernández Madrid Theater”, which operated there until 1983.

MEDICAL GENERATION
In 1935 Don Venancio Rueda became the school doctor until 1958. His son Don Eduardo joined this endeavor, who has also been concerned with taking care of the best of the Gimnasio’s community.
