DOCUMENTS IN THE URN
On the occasion of the 50 years celebration, Mister Agustín Nieto Caballero, his wife Mrs Adelaida Cano, Monsignor Emilio de Brigard and the former President of the Republic, Eduardo Santos, look excitedly at the documents that were deposited in the urn 25 years ago.

THE STREETCAR
The eyes of the Gimnasio students knew another Universe, thanks to the room that Prof Bein designed so that the light entered only from the side and illuminated the mirrors of the microscopes.

UNFORGETABLE PERFORMANCE
Another of the Prof’s great virtues were his histrionic gifts. Every time he stepped on the stage boards his students were not able to recognize him. He was someone else; characteristic that also appeared in front of the board when he taught his classes.

ENGLAND

At the end of the school year, the Prof programmed with some of his most outstanding students, cultural fieldtrips to Europe. Here, alongside him, the brothers Álvaro and Jaime Gutiérrez.

THE OTHER BAND
With clarinets, trombones, cornets, tuba and trumpets, among others, in front of the entrance to the Main Building, the students’ Symphonic Band is presented.

PURE PHYSICS

Teacher Luis Alberto Vargas’s classes last in the memories of his students. Mister Luis, as he was known, always knew how to show the world of science with clear methods and a lot of patience.

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
These students are very interested in their biology class. The teacher taught the digestive system of the human body, with full color plates and the unforgettable skeleton that was missing one or another bone.

ON A HORSE

Being invited by the Prof was a privilege that not many students can share. He invited them to his farm in Tabio and took them from store to store to discover the region. Anecdotes are endless.

YOUTH RED CROSS

The children that made up the Youth Red Cross Brigade, which was founded in 1923, deliver the groceries as part of their humanitarian commitment, a pillar of the School’s philosophy.

FLAG RAISING
The students of the Gimnasio are well aligned. They look impeccable in a gala uniform, while the Band honors the national flag and the school’s green and orange flag.

This row of cooks is led by Prof. Bein and is followed by the students. They are going to serve lunch to all the students.

THE PROF.
He met Mister Agustín at a World Congress on Education. He came to Colombia to make sure of everything he had heard and fell in love with the Discipline of Trust. A universal man; strict, but at the same time affable, he managed to establish himself among several generations of students as an unforgettable teacher.

FIRST AUDIOVISUALS

Thee Audiovisual Hall that was next to the Library in the High School Building. Against the walls are the maps of all the corners of the Earth and, in the center, the overhead projector that enlarged the texts and graphics of the books against the wall.

LIBERATION

By the early 1970s, the Girls of the Feminino competed in the Indoor Gym against the boys of the Moderno. Generally the girls won.

THE PIGEON HOUSE

The Leaning Tower of Babel. That’s what the students called the old pigeon house that was stationed on the trunk of a tree. In the background, its replacement is built.

GIMNASIAN PARADE

Before going on a mid-year vacation, on the day of the school party, all the students parade around La Raqueta to the rhythm of the band.

FASHION

Sideburns, bell-bottom pants, large lapels and the occasional miniskirt were part of the fashion used by teachers in the early 1970s.
