l School Board of Directors is a coordinating body that assists in the orientation of the school and advises the Principal’s Office in decision-making. Some of its functions are:
- To serve as an instance for resolving conflicts between teachers and administrative members with students.
- Adopting the Handbook for the Educational Community.
- Assuming the defense and ensuring the rights of all the school community.
- Participating in the planning and evaluation of the Institutional Educational Project, curriculum and syllabus (study plan).
- Promoting academic, sports and cultural relationships with other educational institutions and the formation of youth organizations.
- Approving the school’s collections and fees budget, such as academic rights, the use of textbooks, etc.
The students had the opportunity to live democracy with the voting day to elect the Student Representative and the Inspector, in addition to electing the members of the Board of Directors of the Student Council.
To ensure that the elections were made thoroughly, the Social Sciences Area organized debates and other academic activities that generated a serious participation of the students community in the event.
At the end of the elections, the votes were counted digitally obtaining the following results:
Student Representative
Student José Pablo Ospina Arbeláez won with 147 votes. José Pablo will be invited, without voting right, as representative of the students before the Student Council, he will be the spokesman of the students and will carry out the role of intervening so that the rights of all students are respected.
Inspector
Student Pablo Martínez was the winner in the run-off vote, since in the first round the winner was the blank vote. Pablo will have the responsibility to ensure transparency in all the processes of the school, in order to give peace of mind to students through his role as inspector in all the activities in which the students participate.
Board of Directors of the Student Council
As President of the Student Council, the student Samuel Navarro of grade 10B was elected. As vice president, Francisco Cabal of grade 11B. Juan Felipe Apráez of grade 11C, is now the Student Spokesperson before the School Board of Directors and Samuel Navarro, of grade 10B is the Student Spokesperson before the Advisory Committee.
Teachers Representatives in the School Board of Directors
Teachers Adelaida Bayona and Angélica Velasco will represent teachers before the School Board of Directors.
