On Saturday October 10, two students participated in the international tournament “International School Chess Male Tournament”, organized by the Kendal English School in Chile. The tournament lasted three and a half hours, where the chess players who obtained the highest score in each game were awarded.
The student Camilo Guzmán, from course 10 C, was second in the overall tournament, among 18 competitors from different parts of the world. Camilo affirmed that he has constantly prepared, reading and practicing strategies, but he is very grateful to the rector, Víctor Alberto Gómez Cusnir, who has been his mentor and guide.
The second student who stood out in this championship was Carlos Elías Pardo, from course 10 B, who ranked 13th out of 35 participants.
For the Gimnasio Moderno it is a pride that the students stand out in international tournaments, because all their effort and perseverance is reflected in these scenarios of exchange of experiences and knowledge.
