Juan Felipe Echeverry González is an example of how education can influence the path that one chooses to follow in life. Thanks to the social work and field trips he carried out at Gimnasio Moderno, he developed a deep commitment to Colombia and a sensitivity towards the needs of rural areas of the country. This experience led him to study Business Administration at CESA after graduating in 2011, and to create a socially impactful company, where he was able to firsthand understand the reality of the country, the difficulties faced by rural communities, and saw great potential in Colombian biodiversity.
With this experience and his passion for contributing to society, Juan Felipe decided to create the company Petalli, with the aim of connecting small flower growers from rural Colombia with the international and national market. In a short period of time, he has positioned it as one of the leading flower distributors in the North American and Canadian markets, achieving double-digit growth month after month, and making a positive impact on the lives of more than 100 small flower growers, by guaranteeing fixed prices, technical training and total purchase of the production.
Together with his team, they have great challenges for the future, such as launching their brand in Colombia and incorporating the company in the United States, with the vision of becoming an international company that supports small flower growers worldwide.
Juan Felipe is a true example of how education can influence a person’s life and lead them to do great things for their country and the neediest communities. His spirit as a student of Gimnasio Moderno and his commitment to his work are an example to follow for all those who seek to make a positive change in society.
