At school, Nicolás Nohra began to train as a great businessman: during recess he sold brownies, ice cream, gummies, sandwiches and even clothing; on vacations, he used to work in his father’s office.
After graduating in 2009, he studied Business Administration at CESA. In 2014, together with his school friend and partner, Juan Carlos Fandiño, he made a trip to China that changed his life. Together they began to introduce colored Ray-Ban glasses to the Colombian market; The following year, when he was just 23 years old, they founded Ópticas Lanof, their first company, which today distributes eyewear brands such as Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Ray-Ban, Oakley and Gucci, among others, not only in Colombia, but also in Peru, Chile, Mexico and other Central American countries.
His drive and good sense for business have led him to receive different recognitions such as the Ray-Ban entrepreneur award 2017 or the Diageo 2021 Award for the best sustainability entrepreneurship project; Likewise, he was recognized by Forbes Colombia 2020 magazine and by the Ministry of Culture for leading one of the 50 most sustainable ventures in the orange economy.
As if that were not enough, in 2017, in alliance with a partner and an American company, he developed what would become the first Colombian earphones brand: Waiv. He currently serves as CEO of the company that has distribution in Colombia, Chile, Peru and Mexico.
Nicolás’s philosophy of life has been to give back to the planet and to Colombian society a large part of what he has received during his life; Therefore, one of his objectives as an entrepreneur is to develop different social and environmental projects that will benefit different regions of the country.
