Juan José Zapata is a Chemical Engineer from the Universidad de los Andes with a Master’s degree in Education from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, with six years of teaching experience in the subjects of biology, chemistry and physics. He is fluent in English and French, and his personal interests lie in literature, art and history. He is a passionate traveler for the recognition of ecosystems and the great biodiversity of our country present in its National Parks. He will be accompanying the eighth-grade students in the area of Science.
Mary Luz Herrera is a Historian from Universidad Nacional, specialist in Education with emphasis in Management of Educational Institutions from Universidad de los Andes; she has also studied subjects related to Art History. Her hobbies include pachwork, drawing and reading historical novels or her favorite author, Humberto Eco. She will accompany the eleventh grade students in Social Studies and will share classes in Projects and Aesthetics with the eighth grade students.
Laura Alejandra Coll Rullán, has a degree in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis on creativity and Cognition from the Universidad Javeriana, and a Master’s Degree in Policy, Management and Administration of Educational Organizations from the Universidad de Valencia. She has three diploma courses, including a diploma course in Educational Management from the Politécnico de Colombia and two others awarded by the Latin Business School for SMEs UNIPYMES, one in Neurolinguistic Programming for trainers and the other in Conflict Resolution in the Classroom. Her favorite hobbies are playing sports, especially soccer and biking, she also loves to read and travel. She is the new Preschool Technology teacher.
Joining the Commissary team is German Huertas, a cook by profession and passion. He has 20 years of experience delighting thousands of people with his great seasoning and culinary knowledge. He is a nature and animal lover. Germán said he is very happy to join the school and is grateful for this great opportunity to share his knowledge and experience to contribute to the nutrition of the students.
