The coordinating body that helps in the orientation of the school and advises the Principal’s Office in decision making is the School Board of Trustees. It is made up of the Principal, the Administrative and Financial Director, a representative of the Gimnasio Moderno Foundation, two representatives of the parents, a representative of the students, a representative of the alumni, and two representatives of the teachers.
The Teachers’ Assembly took into account the high degree of belonging, commitment and values of the teachers, and elected teacher Laura Rey and teacher Nicolás Díaz as the new representatives to the School Board of Trustees.
“I have been a teacher at the school for 5 years and a mother to a Gimnasio student. I intend to continue contributing to the school from the School Board as a representative of the teachers, to support decision-making on issues that affect teachers and students. On the other hand, I believe that we teachers can inspire our students by getting involved in these spaces of democratic participation in the school,” said Laura.
For his end, Nicolás says that “the role of any member of the School Board of Trustees should be to contribute to making decisions that allow the community to move forward, strengthened, from the crisis that the world is experiencing due to the pandemic. This means ensuring the safety of everyone who enters the school, continuing to strengthen institutionalism and guaranteeing transparent and fair communication among all members.”
From now on, they will make up the team of representatives of the School Board of Trustees who will advise the institution’s decisions. In addition to guaranteeing the rights of the educational community, among other important functions.
