Ratification of leadership
Find out how the Plenary Chamber was formed
In a democratic day held at the end of April, the members of the Body of Electors of the Fundación Gimnasio Moderno were summoned to carry out the election of candidates to fill the vacancies in the Plenary Chamber. The purpose of the day was to elect four new members for the period 2023-2026, as well as to find a replacement for the seat left by Julián De Zubiría Samper, who was appointed member of the Superior Council.
The 615 members of the Electoral Body elected Marcela Junguito Camacho, José Manuel Restrepo Abondano, Daniel Samper Pizano and Felipe Noguera Vidales as the new members of the Full Chamber for the 2023-2026 term. The ratification of this leadership translates into a vote of confidence in the new generations that seek to contribute to the strengthening and development of the educational institutions that belong to the Foundation: Gimnasio Moderno and Gimnasio Sabio Caldas.
Along with them, the Plenary Chamber is made up of the other five members:
Patricia Lara Salive
Alberto Preciado Arbeláez
Jaime Nieto Villegas
Ricardo Santamaria Salamanca
Martín Ramírez Mejía
According to the Statutes of the Modern Gym Foundation, the Plenary Room meets four times throughout the year:
In the first, it takes into account the reports of the Superior Council, the Rector, the Prosecutor and the Statutory Auditor. Likewise, it appoints the Statutory Auditor for a period of one year.
In the second meeting, those designated in the elections take possession of their posts and their members receive a report on the activities that took place in the Foundation’s institutions during the first half of the year.
The third meeting is held jointly with the Superior Council, without the presence of school administrators, and its purpose is to analyze the progress of the Modern Gymnasium Foundation and the results of its institutions.
In the fourth and last, they know the budget of the institutions for the following year and designate, each year, if they so determine, a maximum of three members of the seven that make up the Superior Council.
